May 2026 H4H Updates!

Welcome fellow hunters and outdoor enthusiasts to the Hunters 4 Hunters website. We will be adding a few new features to our page offering both knowledgeable information and guidance in making decisions affecting our way of life in the outdoors.

Research is critical for H4H updates to the hunting community

First, we are fortunate to welcome Randall Tlachac as a guest columnist.

Randall brings a rare combination of scientific rigor, institutional experience, and five decades of boots-on-the-ground hunting knowledge that few wildlife policy advocates can match.

As a retired pharmaceutical biotech executive with a career spanning the development and manufacturing of drugs and biologics, as well as extensive compliance auditing experience, Randall's professional discipline in research interpretation and data analysis translates directly to his work in wildlife oversight. He understands how research and models are constructed, where methodological assumptions are buried, and how study design can be manipulated to predetermine outcomes — analytical skills that are critically absent among too many of today's agency wildlife managers.

As a lifelong deer hunter since age 14 — missing only one season across 59 years, starting with a 62-pound recurve bow — Randall is what old-timers call woods wise: the product of a lifetime reading terrain, tracking animal behavior, and understanding deer and predator dynamics from the ground up. That experiential foundation sets him apart from credentialed researchers who study wildlife almost exclusively through models, aerial surveys, and agency-filtered data.

His conservation investment is deep and long-standing. As a lifetime member of both Pheasants Forever and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, he served on the RMEF North Star Chapter Committee for years, including five as chairman, helping raise over $850,000 — with $50,000 directed toward elk reintroduction in Wisconsin.

Appointed by Commissioner Strommen to the Citizens Oversight Committee, Randall held formal oversight authority over the accounts governing Minnesota's wolf and deer management programs, until the commissioner disbanded this important oversight function. That position has given him direct access to the manner in which the DNR operates including, budget allocations, and research methodologies shaping hunting seasons and predator policy across the state — and the standing, the expertise, and the will to challenge them when the data doesn't support the conclusions being drawn.

Second, we would like to include on our website, a guide to the political views that candidates have on issues that may affect the future of hunting and proper management of our natural resources.  We will try to include results on how candidates voted on certain bills that may become law and cripple our constitutional right to hunt in Minnesota. We will also include a column of named candidates on a "Wall of Shame" that have not voted in favor of issues that are of importance to our mission. We will also have a column called "Hall of Fame" that will list those political candidates that have backed our cause and will be the best to support us on future issues. It's crucial to support a candidate and vote for those who support our cause and mission and protect your constitutional right to hunt. We will include the first "sample" below! Stay tuned for more H4H Updates!
